Apology without Reason

Disappointed am I, you don’t know why
In my cold behavior, you wanted to verify
You ask, “What is it? What did I do wrong?”
I get more disappointed that you don’t know at all

Then you’ll be upset, too, as I kept my mouth shut
Until the silence echoes from our heads to our guts
Thinking, reasoning, justifying our deeds
Till our dismay mixes with guilt

Pride levels down, rage pacified
Apology comes in, no reason required
As we know everyone else, same thing they went through
To salvage relationships with a heart that is true
